NRF 2018 Day 1 Recap: Bigger and Better
On Day 1 of NRF 2018, Retail’s BIG Show truly lived up to its name. Whether you were participating in the show or one of the 35,000 attendees, there’s no denying the amount of energy and excitement. Here are some of our highlights from day 1:
As the expo opened, we were ready to go at booth 3861, floor 3, excited to talk to guests about improving their retail operations and store execution.
We started the day’s sessions with Levi’s, who is killing the game in leveraging innovation with their iconic and classic brand. One of their principles for staying relevant in a shifting retail environment is to “be collaborative.” Seems like they’re on to something…
Speaking of innovation, there’s nothing like walking around the expo and seeing all of the amazing installations fellow exhibitors have on display. Take IBM, for example, who came prepared for all the elements!
We are excited for the future of retail, especially if it’s THIS fun! Disco, anyone?
Check out Toshiba’s art installation! The image is primarily composed of individual nails creating shadows.
It was awesome seeing Salesforce TrailBlazing their way through NRF 2018. We got to grab a stump and watch as they presented at Shopper Success Park.
At another session, we got to hear from Doug McMillon, Walmart CEO. He explained that the way customers feel when they leave your store or website is what drives them to come back. Thus, employees that are taken care of help provide that experience to customers.
Tiffany Pham, Founder & CEO of Mogul discussed how to merge technology and retail through elements of community, content, education, employment and activism. She said that once you recognize your brand pillars, you must have a cause aligned with those pillars, identify influencers and champions, and then ultimately consumers.
With day 1 this action packed, we can’t wait to see what’s in store for tomorrow. If you’re still planning your agenda, here are the top 10 sessions we recommend at this year’s conference. Don’t forget to visit Inkling at booth 3861, level 3 – we’ll show you how customers like Vera Bradley are transforming their retail operations with Inkling Collaboration!
