Ask an Inkblot: Russell Shearer, Front-End Developer


After college, Russell spent seven months working in Antarctica with the United States Antarctic Program, where he worked in the galley at McMurdo Station.

Where are you from?

Denver, Colorado

Why did you join Inkling?

I joined Inkling because I wanted to iterate on a single product and really feel invested in building something useful. I’m excited to see the platform grow, change and become an extremely powerful tool for our customers.

What do you do?

I help to implement new features so the content creators can enhance their Habitat projects with beautiful, custom, and unique interactivity. Here’s an example of a little interactive widget we created:

What has been your proudest moment at Inkling?

Seeing the widgets transform from wireframes and client ideas to beautiful, platform widgets over the last few months.

What do you do in your spare time?

I love to tinker, draw and build things at home. I always have a hands-on project going at home. Most recently, I have been working on printing custom fabric designs and and creating art for my new apartment.

The Magicians series by Lev Grossman.

I love that everyone at Inkling is really passionate about rethinking the way that digital content is created and consumed in a beautiful and scalable way.
